The chief message in the passage on page 149-150 Titus is pointing out how they are a new nation... a nation of people who can acheive things simply by dreaming (thinking) about it. This is the direction our civilation is heading toward and Anderson is pointing it out in the passage.

Age of the Smart Machine
"What kind of society it will be when people pose their jobs to computers?"
As for me, I welcome the transition. It will make our lives easier. Let industrial work die and the workers who've worked in those hellish conditions live longer. It's a mental condition to believe we have to have industrial jobs in this country for people to stay employed and for the economy to thrive.

Minding the Body
I've concluded by my own personal life study that your culture determines your way of thinking, then, you thoughts determine you body activity.
In the article "Minding the Body" the concentration seemed to be body activity upon thought, vs, culture upon bodily image and activity (which agrees with more of my own personal theory).
Billy from the article suffered from being an African American athletic student. He's metaphor was life-as-a-game which in terms represented survival. This was due to the fact that his culture was considered "hired thugs" who always had to be bailed out of troubling situations. For that reason he was always on guard for any and everything. But when Billy was injured he started to think differently and found himself alone. His self worth was in his athletic ability so without that ability he felt like a "house nigger" on his college campus, thus, making him feel as though he had lost the game. He withdrew from school because of it.
Billy is a perfect example of culture determining thinking. His self worth was not in his athletic ability... it was in his thinking. The coaching staff and fellow teammate all know how to use both mind and body of the entire team for the best team performance. But outside of the team, it seems as if nobody can find a way to utilize the mind and thinking of an African American athlete.

Smart Moves
In the aritcal we read by Carla Hannaford Ph.d, she points out some good reasons to believe that kids can learn not only with there brain, but also with their body. At the beggining of my reading I was a little lost, but by thr time I finished I totally agreeded with her
